Tyler White

Get to know Tyler White! You may have seen her in Metro Theater Company’s recent production of Last Stop on Market Street or the young person in your life may have seen Tyler in MTC’s in-school program Say Something, Do Something. We are excited to announce that Tyler will be a teaching artist at MTC Summer Camp!

We asked Tyler a few questions recently about pets, snacks, theater, and more!

If you could have any pet in the world, what would it be and why?
If I could have any pet in the world I think I would want a pet lion! I have 2 cats right now (Luna and Piper). I would love to have a huge cuddly lion sleep in my bed with me.

What do you enjoy about teaching young people?
Teaching young people is so exhilarating. Young people always keep you on your toes. They are extremely honest and there creativity is out of this world! They see the world differently than adults do and it's incredible to hear their opinions!

What is your favorite snack food?
What isn't my favorite snack food is easier to answer! If I had to choose one favorite, I think I would go with Snickers... but I love a good ole Oreo dipped in milk.

What do you love about theater?
I love the uncertainty about theater. Of course we have scripts and directions but with theater being live, you never know what is going to happen, so you are on the edge of your seat the entire time anticipating real moments to happen. And when they do happen, art is created on the stage!

What is one of your favorite children's books?
One of my favorite children's books is There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly. It's such a weird story which is what I loved most about it! I could ready the book over and over again because it always made me laugh.

What are you most looking forward to at Metro Theater Company summer camp?
I am most looking forward to having so much fun and learning about myself through teaching the students. Everything in life is a teachable moment and I love growth.
