John Wolbers
With both joy and sadness, we share the news that, after nearly ten years on the Metro Theater Company staff, Producing Associate John Wolbers is leaving MTC to become the next Executive Director of Prison Performing Arts.
MTC Artistic Director Julia Flood said, "John first worked with MTC as an actor in Hana's Suitcase, then as a part-time and later full-time teaching artist before moving into the newly created position of Producing Associate. John has taken on many ‘other duties as assigned’ on an interim or temporary basis including but not limited to grant-writer, proof-reader, playwright, and emergency understudy - it is fair to say that John has donned nearly every hat that there was to don at Metro Theater Company. His dedication to the mission and vision, his compassion and love for this community of staff, artists, educators, and audience, has made him an invaluable member of the MTC team. He has shaped who we are, and I am grateful to him for his long dedication to the work and the people of MTC."
Please join us in congratulating John Wolbers on this new position and celebrating the impact he has had at MTC!
