Last Stop on Market Street: FAQ
IN PERSON PERFORMANCES
Can I pick my seats?
You will be able to purchase assigned your own seats for Last Stop on Market Street. Please note that if you find that you are uncomfortable with the location of your seats when you arrive at the theater due to proximity to other audience members, you may speak to the House Manager or one of our ushers, and we will do our best to move you to seats where you feel more comfortable.
What is the social distancing policy?
We begin seating our audiences three rows back from the stage to maintain a safe distance between our actors (who will be unmasked) and our audience. We will also be seating in alternating rows, with an empty row between each row populated by audience members. We ask that you try your best to be mindful of social distancing when you’re not in your seats. At the end of the show, please remain seated – our House Manager will dismiss the audience in waves to avoid congestion.
What is MTC’s COVID-19 policy?
Metro Theater Company is dedicated to creating the safest environment possible for young people to attend a live performance. For this reason, we ask that everyone over the age of 12 who is medically eligible come prepared to show an ID and proof of vaccination. We also ask that patrons above two years old wear a mask at all times while inside the theater. You can read more about our COVID policy here.
Where is The Grandel located?
The Grandel Theater is located at 3610 Grandel Square, across the street from Powell Hall.
Where can I park?
Metered street parking (2 hours at a time, 7 am to 7 pm, Mon thru Sat) is available on Grandel Square as well as some free street parking on adjacent streets. The Fox Parking Garage, located on 3637 Washington Boulevard, is also always available as a paid parking alternative. Prices there vary from $10 to $20.
Is the Grandel accessible to guests who use wheelchairs or other mobility aids?
Yes! If you or a guest need an accessible entrance, please enter through the Grandel staff parking lot on the west side of the building. There is a ramp to the side entrance, and staff will be present and ready to assist you to your seats if you need it.
What accommodations are available for guests who are hard of hearing or visually impaired?
Assistive listening devices are available on request – just contact Audience Services Manager Eleanor Marsh at eleanor@metroplays.org. There will also be an ASL interpreted performance for Deaf and hard of hearing guests and an Audio Described performance for guests with visual impairments. You can check the schedule for accessible performances and learn more about Audio Described performances here.
Will there be food or drinks?
The Dark Room (located in the lobby of the Grandel Theater) will be serving water, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages before the show. You are welcome to enjoy a drink in the lobby, but we ask that you please be mindful of the distance between yourself and other guests. We also ask that you finish your drink before entering the theater for your performance.
Where is the restroom located?
Restrooms at the Grandel are located in the basement. As you exit the theater, turn right and follow the short hallway to the stairs. Once you’ve gone down the stairs, the restrooms will be to your left and right past the wine cellar. There is also an elevator that goes to the lower level. You are free to leave your seat and visit the restroom at any time during the performance.
How can I access the playbill?
To maintain a contactless experience, we won’t be providing paper programs. You can access the playbill on your phone or tablet here. You can also view the playbill, education guide, audience survey, production photos, and more on the day of the show by scanning the QR code found on one of the Last Stop on Market Street posters around the lobby and in the theater. The QR code takes you to this Last Stop on Market Street resources web page.
What if I’m not feeling well?
We’re all being extra cautious about health and safety these days – our own, as well as that of the young people in our lives. If you don’t feel well in any way, whether it be COVID symptoms or a cold, please stay home! We would be happy to exchange your tickets into a streaming pass so you can watch the show virtually.

Operation Food Search
We are honored to partner with Operation Food Search! Founded in 1981, Operation Food Search (OFS) is a hunger relief organization that provides free food, nutrition education, and innovative programs proven to reduce food insecurity. With a strategic focus aimed at ending childhood hunger, OFS empowers families and increases access to healthy and affordable food. The agency provides food and services to 200,000 individuals on a monthly basis – one-third of whom are children – through a network of 330 community partners in 27 Missouri and Illinois counties and the city of St. Louis. Metro Theater Company is hosting an OFS food drive during the run of Last Stop on Market Street. Bring non-perishable food items to any of our in-person performances at the Grandel Theatre and place them in the marked blue barrels. Thank you for helping heal the hurt of hunger.
