Zaro Weil Virtual Book Launch

See Metro Theater Company Co-Founder Zaro Weil virtually! On October 3 at 11 am BST (yes, that is 5 am in US Central Time, but when you register you will get a link to the recording of the event), Zaro and Mr. Dilly present a free and fun event celebrating the launch of Zaro’s book, When Poems Fall From the Sky. Register here to receive a link to the recording of the event.

Great for ages 7+, the virtual event includes an inspirational chat, an interactive poetry activity with Zaro, readings from the book, a Draw-a-Long with illustrator Junli Song, and an exclusive sneak peek from Mr. Dilly’s forthcoming stage adaptation of Zaro’s book.

When Poems Fall From the Sky is a collection of poems, raps, rhymes, haiku, and little plays written by Zaro Weil, winner of the 2020 CLiPPA children’s poetry prize and is illustrated in full color throughout by artist Junli Song. Beautiful illustrations of trees, birds, animals, rivers, flowers, mountains, and insects each share their own magical stories. And the stories they tell, the 'poems' that fall from the sky, subtly, and powerfully illuminate our hope and collective role as guardians of our earth.

Zaro Weil founded Metro Theater Company with Lynn Rubright. Zaro now lives in southern France with her husband and dogs, alongside a host of birds, insects, badgers, wild boars, crickets, donkeys, goats, hares, and more. She has been a lot of things—dancer, theater director, actor, poet, playwright, educator, quilt collector, historian, author, and publisher. Read more about Metro Theater Company’s history.

Fun Fact! In the UK, National Poetry Day is celebrated on the first Thursday of October.
