Meet the master of ceremonies for After Dark 2023: The Second Greatest Show on Earth… Jaime Zayas!

When co-founders Lynn Rubright and Zaro Weil started MTC in 1973, we were Metro Theater Circus – a reference to the eclectic nature of the ensemble: actors, storytellers, musicians, dancers, circus performers, and more. We changed our name in 1992 to Metro Theater Company and have continued to build upon our history of dynamic ensembles—creating innovative and memorable theater and arts integration experiences.

So, it’s no surprise that at our 50th anniversary gala, we’ll be welcoming an extraordinary multi-disciplinary circus artist to be our emcee! Jaime Zayas, Executive Director of Kinetic Tapestry, will lead our 50th anniversary gala under The Big Top in Grand Center on April 22nd – alongside a range of circus performers from Kinetic Tapestry to create the fun, immersive circus-themed experience of After Dark 2023. We hope you will join us!

Jamie is an actor, mime, and clown who was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Since studying under Cirque du Soleil clown Alex Navarro, he’s done specialty character work for the Walt Disney Company, and performed all over the USA, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Nicaragua, Spain, Switzerland, and Egypt.
