A New Partnership
MTC began rehearsals for a new interactive theatrical experience inspired by signature education program Say Something, Do Something (SSDS). Using SSDS’s model of improvisation, facilitated dialogue, and theater as “rehearsal for life,” this new program addresses improved patient-physician communication and shared decision making for those struggling with lupus (a chronic autoimmune disease). Developed in partnership with St. Louis University Master of Public Health student, Jerik Leung, and Preceptor, Elizabeth Baker, Ph.D., programming has received the support of the Rheumatology Research Foundation through a Lawren H. Daltroy Health Professional Preceptorship grant.
The program will culminate in an intensive, interactive workshop for Washington University Rheumatology Fellows led by Education Director, Karen Bain, and featuring scripted dialogue and improvised scenes from Alicia Revé Like and John Wolbers.
