Tawaine Noah is Metro Theater Company’s House Manager. We recently asked Tawaine some questions about his time with MTC and what he loves about theater for young audiences.

Tawaine said, “One of my most memorable moments so far working with MTC has been working as house manager for The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show! The performance by the actors, the puppets, and especially the original music score were all so well done and enjoyable to experience time after time. But perhaps even more entertaining was the responses of the children to performance. That for me became the real show!”

He added, “What I love about theater for young audiences comes from first hand experience. Having the opportunity to see live theater when I was a kiddo is integral to who I am now as an adult. I learned that I could be anything, anytime, anywhere! Theater inspired me to live out loud. To start up a random song and dance number during mundane tasks. To see a world outside my own. Theater taught me empathy. Taught me about teamwork. I know the power of theater for young audiences and how important it is that children get the opportunity to experience it!”
